Las niñas en el mar by Joaquín Sorolla.
One of the best things I did in Madrid last weekend was visit the Museo de Sorolla. This painting struck a particular chord and so here it is for all of you to enjoy.

Lovely, Alexandra. Thank you for sharing it.

We did enjoy it – thanks Alexandra. In fact, we’ve enjoyed all your writing and photos. J&P
special, and yes you did look like dad when you were little in that photo on facebook. Wx
brings back memories of two little girls playing on the beach and in the water at Horseshoe Bay. Hope you are still enjoying your ‘teaching’ and we look forward to more posts soon.
Love,
Sharon. xx
What an evocative image of sisters! Thank you for sharing it.
awwwww, so cute
It brings to mind some special times, both as a mother and also as a sister. It also reminds me of the painting we saw in Paris (by Renoir) of two young girls at a piano. Evan says it reminds him of Chris Rye’s watercolour of the two of you at the beach that we will be able to hang again soon(ish) in our new home. Love you xx
Yes, it instantly reminded me of both of those paintings. Sadly no postcards of it to send home. Love you too xxx
